SIUT Secures 10 Acres in Larkana for Landmark Hospital Project

A Major Leap in Regional Healthcare Access The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) has finalized the acquisition of a 10-acre site on Wagan Road in Larkana for the construction of a fully equipped hospital. Positioned opposite Noor Housing Colony, the location was selected after thorough evaluation by SIUT leadership and local authorities, paving the way for a transformative healthcare facility in the region.

Collaborative Planning with Government Support The land transfer was facilitated through coordinated discussions with provincial government officials, ensuring a smooth and expedited development process. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to expanding healthcare access in underserved areas of Sindh.

Expanding Free Kidney Care Services The new hospital will follow SIUT’s established model of providing free-of-cost treatment for kidney and related ailments. Currently, the Larkana dialysis center serves over 21,000 patients annually. With the new facility, operations will expand from three to four shifts daily to meet growing demand.

Rs4.5 Billion Allocated for Infrastructure Development The Sindh government has committed Rs4.5 billion to fund the hospital’s construction. Plans include detailed architectural mapping, phased commissioning, and robust infrastructure to ensure seamless service delivery. This investment underscores the province’s dedication to equitable healthcare.

A Vision for Sustainable Healthcare in Larkana SIUT’s expansion into Larkana is more than a construction project—it’s a vision for sustainable, accessible healthcare. With strong institutional backing and strategic planning, the hospital is poised to become a regional hub for specialized medical care, particularly for kidney-related diseases.

Looking Ahead As groundwork begins, the SIUT hospital in Larkana promises to reshape the healthcare landscape for thousands of residents. It stands as a beacon of hope for equitable treatment and a model for future public health initiatives across Pakistan.
