Pakistan’s Response to Taliban’s Baseless Allegations
Pakistan has categorically denied the Taliban’s accusation that it targeted a drug rehabilitation hospital in Kabul. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar stated that the claim is “entirely baseless” and part of a recurring pattern of misinformation from the Afghan Taliban regime.
According to Tarar, the strikes conducted on March 16, 2026, in Kabul and Nangarhar were precise, deliberate, and professional, aimed solely at terrorist infrastructure. He clarified that no hospital, drug rehab center, or civilian facility was targeted. Instead, the operations focused on ammunition depots, technical equipment storage sites, and installations linked to hostile activities against Pakistan.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting released video footage of all six strikes, showing flames and secondary detonations that confirmed the destruction of ammunition storage facilities. Tarar emphasized that these visuals leave “no room for doubt” about the nature of the targets.
He further criticized the Taliban regime for spreading false narratives, doctored claims, and recycled visuals to mislead audiences. Pakistan, he stressed, faces a grave threat from terrorism emanating from Afghan territory, where militants exploit vulnerable groups, including drug addicts and children, for suicide bombings.
Pakistan’s stance remains clear: it will take every necessary measure to defend its citizens, degrade terrorist capabilities, and deny safe havens to those waging terror across the border.
Meanwhile, security sources reported that a UAV fell on a house in Rawalpindi’s Chaklala area, causing damage but no casualties. This follows recent incidents where rudimentary drones launched by the Taliban were intercepted in Pakistani cities.
Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah also underscored the importance of eliminating terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan to secure lasting peace. He noted that Pakistan has shared evidence with Afghan authorities, but effective action against training camps and safe havens has yet to be taken.
Pakistan’s ongoing operations, including Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, highlight its commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring regional stability.
