International Health Research Conference Concludes at RMI Peshawar

RMI Hosts Landmark International Health Research Conference

The International Conference of Health Research (ICHR-26) concluded at the Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) in Peshawar, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s growing culture of medical research and collaboration. The three-day event brought together over 2,000 participants, including researchers, healthcare professionals, and students from across Pakistan and abroad.

The closing ceremony was attended by prominent figures such as Prof Dr Rizwan Taj, President of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), RMI Chairman and Founder Prof Dr Muhammad Rehman, and RMI CEO Shafique Ur Rehman. Their presence underscored the importance of the conference in advancing healthcare knowledge and strengthening ties between academia and medical institutions.

Throughout the event, participants engaged in academic sessions, research presentations, and discussions addressing key healthcare challenges. Topics ranged from innovative treatment approaches to practical solutions for improving patient care. The conference provided a platform for knowledge exchange, encouraging collaboration between local and international experts.

In his remarks, Prof Dr Rizwan Taj praised RMI’s efforts, describing Prof Dr Muhammad Rehman as “an institution in himself.” He emphasized the need for researchers to pursue meaningful projects, seek international grants, and contribute to impactful scientific advancements.

CEO Shafique Ur Rehman highlighted that organizing ICHR-26 despite regional challenges was a deliberate decision, reflecting RMI’s commitment to advancing healthcare education and research.

Conference Chairman Dr Naseer Ahmad called the event remarkable, noting the strong participation both physically and online. Patron Prof Dr Ghulam Rasool described the gathering as “the power of knowledge in motion,” stressing the importance of converting research data into actionable decisions that benefit communities. He also announced the dates for ICHR-2027, ensuring continuity of this vital initiative.

The successful conclusion of ICHR-26 demonstrates Pakistan’s growing role in global health research. By fostering collaboration and innovation, the conference has strengthened the foundation for future advancements in medical education, healthcare delivery, and scientific discovery.
