Expanding Bilateral Cooperation in Key Sectors
Pakistan and China have reinforced their strategic partnership with the signing of new agreements that span construction machinery, animal health, and medical technology. The ceremony, held in Sanya, Hainan, was attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, highlighting the importance of these collaborations in advancing practical cooperation.
One of the key memorandums of understanding was signed between Al Hassan Trade Establishment, Sany International Development, and Hainan Jiaolong International Technology. This trilateral partnership focuses on supplying complete construction machinery and equipment, supporting projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and developing professional training systems. Plans also include exploring investment opportunities to establish factories in Pakistan, which would strengthen local production and create employment opportunities.
In the field of animal health, a Joint Venture Agreement was concluded between the Livestock & Fisheries Department, Government of Sindh, and Luoyang Modern Biology Group of China. This collaboration will ensure the distribution and supply of animal vaccines, including those for Foot-and-Mouth Disease, while also introducing advanced track-and-trace systems to improve livestock monitoring and disease control in Pakistan.
Healthcare innovation was another focus, with Dr Ziauddin Hospital partnering with Shenzhen Weibang Technology. Their agreement aims to integrate intelligent medical robots into clinical practice, creating a cooperation model based on “product + service + solution.” This initiative is expected to enhance efficiency in medical services and support the modernization of Pakistan’s healthcare system.
The event also featured a documentary showcasing 75 years of Pakistan-China friendship, underlining the deep-rooted ties between the two nations. Senior officials, including Sindh’s provincial ministers and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, were present to witness the signing.
These agreements reflect a forward-looking approach to Pakistan-China relations, expanding beyond traditional infrastructure projects to include healthcare and agriculture. By embracing innovation and localized production, both countries are setting the stage for sustainable growth and stronger bilateral cooperation in the years ahead.
