PMDC Announces NEB Exam Amid Global Crisis

PMDC Offers Lifeline for Students Through NEB Exam

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially announced that the National Equivalence Board (NEB) examination will be held on May 16, 2026, in Rawalpindi. This exam is designed to evaluate the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competence of students who began their medical or dental education abroad but now seek admission or transfer to institutions in Pakistan.

PMDC Chairperson Dr Rizwan Taj described the exam as the “best opportunity” for students affected by the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran. He emphasized that the NEB exam provides a pathway for Pakistani students stranded abroad to continue their education without losing valuable time.

Eligibility for the exam requires students to have completed at least two years of study in a foreign medical or dental institution and to be entering their third year. Passing the NEB exam is mandatory for transfer and admission into Pakistani institutions for the upcoming academic year.

Registration for the exam will be open from April 9 to April 24, 2026, through the PMDC’s online portal. Students are urged to complete the process within the given timeline to secure their place.

The PMDC highlighted that this opportunity is particularly relevant for students currently studying in Iran, advising them to complete all necessary formalities promptly. The council also reminded parents and students to carefully consider security concerns and long-term prospects before pursuing education abroad.

Details regarding the NEB exam schedule, syllabus, and examination centers are available on the PMDC website. Candidates are encouraged to stay updated by checking official announcements regularly.

This announcement underscores PMDC’s commitment to safeguarding the academic future of Pakistani students, ensuring that their education continues seamlessly despite global challenges.
