PMDC Expands MDCAT 2025 Test Centers to Ease Student Access
Making Medical Entrance Exams More Accessible In a major move to support aspiring medical students, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced an expansion of test centers for the MDCAT 2025. This decision aims to reduce travel burdens and improve accessibility for candidates from remote regions, especially Sindh and Balochistan.
New Centers in Islamabad and Jacobabad Students from Sindh and Balochistan will now have the option to take the MDCAT in Islamabad, thanks to new centers established by Sukkur IBA University and Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences. Additionally, Jacobabad has been added as a test location to accommodate students from upper Sindh, who previously had to travel long distances to cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur.
A female candidate from Jacobabad shared her relief, noting that last year’s nine-hour journey to Karachi was both exhausting and stressful. The unfamiliar environment and overcrowded conditions had negatively impacted her performance.
Addressing Student Concerns The expansion comes in response to repeated complaints from students and parents about the financial and emotional strain of traveling for the exam. By offering more localized options, PMDC hopes to create a fairer and more comfortable testing experience.
Improved Logistics and Transparency Sukkur IBA University Vice Chancellor Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh highlighted the university’s successful handling of last year’s MDCAT retake following a paper leak in Sindh. Despite limited preparation time, the exam was conducted transparently, with technical issues resolved swiftly.
Registration Timeline for MDCAT 2025 PMDC has confirmed that registration for MDCAT 2025 began on August 8 and will remain open until August 25. A late registration window will be available until September 1, 2025, giving students additional flexibility.
A Step Toward Equitable Education Access This expansion of test centers reflects PMDC’s commitment to making medical education more accessible across Pakistan. By reducing logistical barriers, the council is helping students focus on what truly matters—preparing for their future in medicine.
