In a powerful display of hands-on leadership, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid a surprise visit to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Nankana Sahib, personally inspecting emergency services and interacting with patients to assess the quality of care.

Hospital Inspection and Patient Care

She praised the hospital’s real-time medicine display system and commended staff for diagnosing and treating patients within an average of 90 minutes—a significant improvement in service delivery.

Flood Relief and Community Outreach

Beyond the hospital, the Chief Minister embarked on a two-and-a-half-hour tour of flood-affected villages, including Jaslani Mor and Miranpur. She announced the construction of two flood drains, expedited road development, and the distribution of relief kits, mosquito nets, and clothing by PDMA.

Model Village and Infrastructure Plans

Maryam Nawaz pledged to transform Nankana Sahib into a model city, directing the beautification plan to be submitted within two weeks. She also ordered the inclusion of villages like Dafar Khokhran in the Model Village Scheme, and called for improved signage, zebra crossings, and shoulder roads.

Public Services Expansion

The CM announced an increase in electric buses and clinics-on-wheels for the district, aiming to enhance mobility and healthcare access. She also emphasized controlling food prices and expanding the Himmat Card program for special persons.

Public Engagement and Accountability

During her visit, Maryam Nawaz met with flood victims, shook hands with women, and gifted sweets to children. She held a briefing with local officials, stressing that land grabbing by mafias would be treated as administrative failure, and reaffirmed her duty to serve the people of Punjab.
